Observation 4

My fourth observation was very much like my third observation. Bistros was pretty busy and each of the three parts of the restaurant had the same atmosphere as last week. I once again visited Bistros on a Friday night. It was loud and had a very good atmosphere in it.

The pool table area was packed full again. Playing were all guys but the majority of them were in what looked like to be there early 30's or late 30's. I really didn't think this was out of the ordinary as there was a Red Wings game on the tv's and it seemed like a time that guys would go out with there friends and maybe have a drink. In the back of the pool table area were two guys that were very loud and energetic. They were there when I arrived and were still there when I left. They had to have played close to ten games of pool in the time period.

The bar area once again was very busy. Both sides of the bar was nearly completely filled with there being about half guys and half girls. Once again all but two people at the bar were smoking. Nobody seemed to be drunk like last time. It seemed like everybody was more focused on watching the tv's in the center of the bar in comparison to drinking. The bartender was very laid back. He would just sit in the center of the bar watching the games across the restaurant when nobody needed him, and when he did have to serve people he seemed very polite to them.

The last area was the dining area. I would say about half the seats were full in this area. Nobody seemed to be watching the televisions around the restaurant as they were all focused on their food. One family drew my attention as soon as I walked in. It was a mom, a dad, and two kids that were probably around 10 years old. The reason they drew my attention was because of the kids. These two kids were glued to one of the televisions that was playing the red wings game. They barely took there eyes off of the tv and barely ate any of their food. Hockey isn't big where I come from, so it just caught my attention that kids that young would already be that big of fans to hockey.
